Must all the books recommended in TruthQuest History be read aloud by the parent?

Only if that parent has 250 years to homeschool…and kids who don't mind graduating at the age of 267! Remember, it is our natural feminine tendency to be overly perfectionistic and tightly gripping. Read-aloud times are wonderful, and many mothers have a read-aloud going during the school hours (they may get through a handful each semester), while many fathers have a read-aloud going with the kids at bedtime, but older kids will need to do independent reading, as well, in order to cover the whole of ancient, western, and American history before graduation. Naturally, you will be reading aloud to your pre-reading youngsters, but that is just part of parenting at that age anyway. Both the children and Mom can eventually graduate to greater independence!
