How we incorporate geography
Tami from Minnesota says: "For geography, we look up places we read about. An easily compatible resource is 'Trail Guide to US Geography' by Geography Matters. When we read about a particular state in our history, we look up and do the corresponding mapwork and drill questions in Trail Guide. We have made mini-books of state symbols, Question and Answer books for state facts, etc. We schedule geography once per week, and if nothing else, just use a blank US or state map and fill in some of the places that we read about that week. It helps to have a blackline map resource, such as KnowledgeQuest or Uncle Josh, on hand." |
